DBT is a form of treatment that utilizes both cognitive and behavioral strategies to create balance in mood, thoughts, emotions and behaviors. DBT assists individuals in identifying and regulating emotions, reducing maladaptive concrete thinking, learning radical acceptance to manage things we cannot change, increasing mindfulness and ultimately understanding how to function effectively when tolerating distress. DBT is a powerful tool in reducing harmful behaviors towards self and others, reducing addictive and obsessive compulsive tendencies and forming/maintaining more meaningful and healthy relationships with others.
Full DBT Treatment includes individual psychotherapy sessions, group skill based classes and phone coaching.
At this time I am able to offer individual psychotherapy to teach one-on-one DBT skills.
